Video Production
New species found!
|
Why I chose this topic: The reason I decided to pick this topic is because my partner was looking at this really weird monkey and told me a little about it. He said it was a new species of monkey that they found and I saw that was one of our options to research on so I went and talked to my friend and she agreed to do that one with me so we decided to do it on this "new species of ape!"
What parts of the video production are you proud of: i'm am Proud that me am my friend got to catch up and finish the video in time because we were very behind cause someone left our group. We used to have 3 people now it is just Ashley and Haleah.(but I give credit to Ethan for the interview.) What went well: I think that we were able to work well after we were in a smaller group we were able not mess around and do are work |
Child Neglect
Art through History |
I chose this video because I was hoping to be a part of saving children from having to go through this. Any type of child abuse is horrible not just neglect no child should have to go through this "It shouldn't hurt to be a child "
I learned a lot more people than we think are not just being hurt from neglect-ion but a lot of kids die from it. I am very proud of being able to come together with my partner after having a disagreement.Me and lily both can be controlling so when you put controlling trying to control controlling it just doesn't work but we were able to put that aside and work together. Video production has a lot of steps you have to go through and sometimes you have to go back and redo them over and over. First, you go through the process of creating an idea for your video. Then you have to go through your research which for this particular video, it was actually pretty hard researching on my character then we have to research the school to figure out where we are going to shoot it.Then, you have to just research the idea over all. Next, you have to write a script for your video. After that you will finally get to production, but that’s not all. Last you finally get to go back and peer edit. Peer editing is when you get to go back and fix things from someone else’s perspective. So let’s go back to the first step Ideas. My idea for this production was to do a video called History Through Art. To come up with this, we first got into groups of two or three. My group was with Damian, Evan, and me Ashley. Next, we started crossing off things that we didn’t want to do and came down to two with one of them being Humanities. We ended up wanting to do that one cause we already had a good idea for it. We wanted to do it on 3 famous artist that we liked. We had to figure out how we were going to go back in time would we magically be there or would we time travel and we decided time travel. For our research we each mainly researched the artist we picked. Right here is were I definitely learned something in the process. I made the mistake of choosing a female artist off of how pretty she was and let me tell you, it was a big mistake. It was really hard to find any research on her and the research I did find, was the same thing on every website. After all that research we ended up thinking, how are we going to fit three people's lives into five minutes? So we decided to do a video just on Donatello’s life. He was one of the original three artist so Damian had done all the research on him already. Our storyboard never ended up working out for us because our video was way too long and drawing every single clip on a piece of paper was not working out. So we skipped the storyboard and went straight to our script. Our script was on a google document just like this and we used a color coding trick to be able to find our part of the script really easily. Our script took about a day or two to finish which was a lot easier than a storyboard. Production was actually pretty hard and frustrating because we had one person in the group who would not stay on task. It was also really hard to make backgrounds. Not only because we were in the middle of a school, but because we had to pretend we were thousands of years back in time which meant we had to hide modern technology. We had to put paper over tags on shirts and put chairs in front of plugs (ect). We actually never got to peer editing because our video was taking so long. We were still videotaping well other people were going over their video’s . If I was able to go back and edit our video I would want to fix two of the messed up scenes and redo the voice overs. In conclusion our video was very creative some people said. Although it takes a lot of work going through the ideas, research, script, production, and peer editing, in the end, it's really fun and you get to look back at it and amaze your parents. |
